I was a scared third grader who did not know how to stand up for herself. I was pushed around, make fun of, and I was called probably every single name in the books. Internalizing my feelings only made it worse, and as I entered middle school, I did the only thing that I thought would work. I bullied back. I'm not proud of that, but what I am proud of is my ability to say that as a future teacher, I am attempting to make the world a better place by teaching my students about bullying, how to prevent it, and what to do if they see it happening.
