The reason most people become "bullies" is because they feel that in order to make themselves become stronger that it is ok to feed off of the weaknesses of others. They do anything they can to instill that they are above their fellow student. They likely would not feel the need to do these things though if they weren't susceptible to the judgmental ways of their peers as well as the kids they pick on. In environments like highschool it is a battle to be liked and to be popular. What better way for a bully to do this then to go for a more "passive" or "weak" hearted student in front of his peers. I think bullying needs to be uprooted at the source. Bullying begins as soon as children begin developing their own individual character which is influenced by the home environment. At a young age we recognize the differences in our character and personal image and then so do our ways of treating each other. Love and Respect towards one another needs to be taught and practiced at a young age somehow. Perhaps through the educational system. It may not end bullying forever but it may be something we could do to help it greatly
