Screening of the Film "Bully" & Panel Discussion

BE MORE THAN A BYSTANDER...STOP BULLYING ON THE SPOT!

This event is for everyone including teacher candidates, teachers, administrators, students (middle school, high school, and college), and parents.

The screening of the film "Bully" provides participants with an intimate opportunity to view the effects of bullying in schools. This award winning hour and a half documentary shows how bullying has touched the lives of 5 students and their families.

After the screening of the film a half hour panel discussion will commence with panel members Mr. David Dimbleby (Hilton Central Superintendent of Schools), Maureen Thayer (Hilton Central Director of Student Services), Sr. Diana Dolce (Hope Hall Executive Director), and Kim Gawron Buttera (St. Joseph’s Villa Senior Resident Counselor). The discussion will give participants the opportunity to learn more about the recently passed New York State legislation called The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), how it is being implemented in school districts, and administrators' experiences with the new law at the school level.

The event is sponsored by the Kappa Delta Pi Chapter along with T.E.A.C.H. Association with financial support from the Department of Education & Human Development and the Department of Criminal Justice.
